Developing a Career in Skilled Trades

Ontario Power Generation presents a new webinar series Women in Skilled Trades. The second installation of the webinar series is “Developing a Career in Skilled Trades.” This webinar focuses on exploring different ways Canadian women and girls can advance and transition within the skilled trades. The theme “Developing a Career” aims to inspire working women to pursue the passion they have for skilled trades and use this passion to move forward or transition in their careers.

A skilled trade is a career path that requires specialized knowledge and hands-on work. When people think about skilled trades, there are often only a few that spring into mind. In reality, there are more than 300 designated trades in Canada and they generally fall within four main categories: construction, transportation, manufacturing and services.

Each webinar will feature five, distinct women from across Canada who will discuss their experiences in their respective skilled trades careers. Each session includes a Q&A, so come with your questions prepared!

The one-hour free webinars will take place on April 28th, 2021 (12:00pm PT / 3:00 ET) and May 5, 2021 (4:00pm PT / 7:00pm ET).
