Your Opportunity

One Permanent Full Time Position.

The Senior Manager, Fleet Turnarounds is accountable for the overall performance of the turnaround process and supervising and mentoring the designated outage team in planning and execution of each turnaround and ensuring alignment with the plant outage manager’s requirements.

You will contribute to our team by

  • Guiding the plant outage manager in detailed work scope development and approval, procurement of services and materials, overall turnaround work scope coordination and execution, execution supervision, cost and progress monitoring and reporting, and financial closeout.
  • Providing Turnaround expertise and technical support to the plant outage manager, including emergency forced outage support when required.
  • Integrating Capital and O&M projects in turnaround planning and execution.
  • Identifying the necessary budget and schedule requirements for the planning and execution of turnarounds.
  • Identifying and mentoring the immediate and extended turnaround team for deliverables and responsibilities.
  • Maintaining and managing historical information as part of the turnaround process, including completed work scope, issues, and recommendations.
  • Resolving issues as they occur throughout the planning and execution of Gas Operations Turnarounds, which may include technical issues, personnel issues and/or contractual issues.
  • Identifying and implementing continuous improvement and best practices initiatives in Turnaround process and execution.
  • Ensuring all Turnaround participants adhere to the requirements outlined in the Turnaround Safety Management Plan (TSMP) and to all HS&E policies and procedures.
  • Identifying and addressing long term and immediate risks to Turnaround execution requirements.
  • Effectively collaborating and coordinating with all cross-functional Turnaround team members.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective communication and working relationships with contractors providing services.

What you will bring to the role  

Education

  • Completed Engineering degree, with P.Eng designation OR College/University level management/business degree.

Experience & Technical Skills

  • 10+ years Project Management experience, with 5+ Turnaround Coordinator experience.
  • 5+ year on-site Power Generating Plant experience preferably in maintenance.
  • Experience preparing and obtaining approval for large multi-year budgets and subsequent execution.
  • Technical experience and understanding of all turnaround planning and execution systems and processes.
  • Excellent in root cause analysis and problem resolution skills.
  • Significant experience with RFQ, sourcing, and contract negotiations.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage and mentor resources that are not direct reports.
  • Highly self-motivated, with demonstrated ability to deliver on challenging goals.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, energetic environment with tight deadlines.

Working Conditions:

  • Hybrid Office, with travel to various Capital Power facilities within Canada and the United States, or other offices.  These sites are heavy industrial facilities and designated as safety sensitive locations. Physical mobility and ability to use PPE required. Multi-union/out-of-scope work force.

Additional Details

As this is a safety sensitive position, clearance of a pre-employment drug & alcohol test is required.
