The Prosperity Project is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Manager of Research and Policy to lead TPP’s two major research initiatives: the Canadian Household Survey and the Annual Report Card on Gender Diversity and Leadership.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and executing research initiatives, analyzing data, and developing evidence-based policy recommendations. This role involves collaborating with internal and external stakeholders and ensuring that our research and policy efforts align with our organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities: 
Research Leadership: 

  • Develop and execute research projects, ensuring they are well-designed, data-driven, and aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Conduct in-depth research and data analysis, synthesizing complex information into actionable insights.
  • Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and emerging research methodologies.

Policy Development:

  • Develop and propose evidence-based policy recommendations that address our key research findings
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, advocacy groups, and industry experts, to influence policy decisions.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of policies and regulatory changes, making necessary adjustments to our advocacy efforts (ex: childcare)

Strategic Planning: 

  • Contribute to ensuring the successful implementation of TPP’s strategic plan, tracking goals, and objectives.
  • Provide input on resource allocation and budget planning to ensure effective execution of research and policy initiatives.

Communication and Advocacy: 

  • Effectively communicate research findings and policy recommendations through briefing notes, reports, whitepapers, or presentations.
  • Organize and lead information sessions for diverse stakeholders related to participation in our research initiatives.
  • Represent TPP in research-focused external meetings, conferences, and forums.

Team Collaboration: 

  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, encouraging knowledge sharing and cross-functional cooperation.
  • Coordinate with other teams to ensure a cohesive approach to our mission.

Qualifications: 

  • Bilingualism required.
  • Master in a relevant field (e.g., Public Policy, Economics, Social Sciences, Gender) + 1 year of experience in research and policy analysis or Bachelor in a relevant field with 5+ years of experience in research and policy analysis
  • Strong analytical and research skills, including proficiency in data analysis tools and software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information, instructions, and updates in a clear and persuasive manner.
  • Active listening and the ability to understand and respond appropriately to remote team members and stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage time and workload efficiently and effectively without direct supervision.
  • Setting and meeting deadlines, prioritizing tasks, and maintaining productivity are vital.
  • Taking responsibility for one’s work, meeting goals, and producing high-quality results without constant supervision.
  • Knowledge of Qualtrics is a plus.
  • Knowledge of gender equality and/or women in the economy space is a plus.
