Join us in powering a clean energy future!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Your Opportunity<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>One Permanent Full Time Position.<\/p>\n<p>Are you interested in working with an organization that is focused on sustainable growth, committed to a low carbon future and that believes in innovation?<\/p>\n<p>Capital Power is currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our dynamic Canadian Renewables team!<\/p>\n<p>As the Operations Coordinator, Whitla Wind you will be accountable to the Whitla Site Manager and responsible for assisting the Site Manager in overseeing and coordinating the day-to-day operations, subcontractors, safety programs, work orders, site performance, and compliance at the Whitla site and other western Canadian Renewables sites as required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>You will contribute to our team by<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Managing and coordinating the day-to-day renewable operations at Whitla.<\/li>\n<li>Overseeing and managing subcontractors\u2019 safe, efficient, and quality of work on site.<\/li>\n<li>Managing safe work permitting and LOTO with contractors.<\/li>\n<li>Executing physically demanding inspections up Wind Turbines at heights in excess of 100m and around the site.<\/li>\n<li>Creating, modifying and updating site operations procedures, work instructions, site safety programs and work practices.<\/li>\n<li>Maintaining exceptional site performance including low lost production factors, high availability, and optimized production.<\/li>\n<li>Responding to site failures, unplanned outages, and emergent situations, and supporting other sites as required.<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring compliance with facility performance within obligations contained in commercial contracts, regulations, permits, and licenses.<\/li>\n<li>Timely managing of the Maximo work management system, including compliance to work order completion dates and preventative maintenance.<\/li>\n<li>Proactively approaching maintenance and operations, foreseeing potential issues and preparing for or making changes to avoid negative outcomes with equipment or other site factors.<\/li>\n<li>Developing and maintaining strong working relationship with contractors and landowners.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What you will bring to the role\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Education<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Completed Trades certificate as a Lineman, Electrician, Power Systems Electrician, equivalent journeyman trade, or a related Diploma.<\/li>\n<li>Current Electrical safety certifications, high angle rescue, fall arrest certifications or confined space certifications considered an asset, but not required.<\/li>\n<li>Education equivalency may be considered based on experience.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2-4 years\u2019 experience in operations or maintenance of high voltage equipment. Experience with operations and maintenance of a wind farm considered an asset, but not required.<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of the many aspects of utility scale power plant operations.<\/li>\n<li>Working knowledge of OH&amp;S requirements, work permitting management.<\/li>\n<li>Experience working on an industrial site or field work.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with and comfortable working at heights.<\/li>\n<li>Lock out Tag out, equipment isolation and management of LOTO process.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with Vestas Turbines considered an asset.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0Technical Skills<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In depth electrical knowledge and experience, particularly with high voltage systems and equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent planning and execution skills.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge and experience in power systems, electrical equipment specification, HV systems.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to troubleshoot electrical equipment alongside engineering and HV subcontractor to find solutions.<\/li>\n<li>Highly resourceful, able to regularly work independently with strong understanding of procedure adherence and can make decisions without reliance on manger.<\/li>\n<li>Process oriented with excellent communication, both written and oral.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to inspect and investigate various mechanical or electrical equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with using CMMS like Maximo or Oracle is an asset.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Working Conditions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Industrial site.<\/li>\n<li>Physical mobility and ability to use PPE required.<\/li>\n<li>Will require physical demanding inspection activities such as climbing Wind Turbines over 300 feet tall.<\/li>\n<li>Will include travel 20-50% of the time, dependent on the time of year, for required support to other Renewables sites.<\/li>\n<li>Work in all weather conditions and seasons.<\/li>\n<li>Involves emergency callouts on short notice, after hours.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Additional Details<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This position will remain open until a suitable candidate is found.<\/p>\n<p>As this is a safety sensitive position, clearance of a pre-employment drug &amp; alcohol test is required.<\/p>\n<p>Clearance of a pre-employment medical will also be required.<\/p>\n<p>In order to be considered for this role you must be legally eligible to work in Canada.<\/p>\n<p>The successful candidate for this position will undergo an education verification, reference checks and criminal record check.<\/p>\n<p>We believe that creating a culture that supports employee physical, mental, financial, and social wellbeing is critical to our success.
