The Rosie Peer Group Mentoring Program

We created the Rosie Peer Group Mentoring Program to address women’s limited access to role models and mentors. The Peer Group Program is designed for women entering, upskilling or pivoting to careers in STEM, skilled trades and leadership. Peer groups will act as a supportive and developmental environment where participants can share their work/life experiences, prompt insightful discussions and seek guidance.

The Rosie Initiative is grateful to Co-Presenting Partners Capital Power and Ontario Power Generation and Amplify Partner BGIS for their support.

If you are interested in participating in the Rosie Peer Group Mentoring Program, please complete an application form. We will consider all applications; however, submitting an application does not guarantee participation in the Rosie Peer Group Mentoring Program.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

The Rosie Peer Group Mentoring Program opens doors for Canadian women who want to advance their careers in STEM, skilled trades or leadership. The Prosperity Project has created this Peer Group Program to provide women with the opportunity to join a diverse, and influential community of like-minded women who are interested in skills development and broadening their personal and professional networks.

Mentoring matters – it helps you navigate your career, explore new ideas and identify growth opportunities.  Peer mentoring provides you with the opportunity to share your experiences and subject matter expertise with peers in an open and trusted environment. Peer mentoring supports career growth, improved communication skills, greater productivity, confidence, and job satisfaction.  Our peer groups bring women together based on career stage (entry level, mid-career and senior level) and profession: STEM, skilled trades, and leadership.  Each peer group’s facilitator brings their own experience in STEM, skilled trades or leadership to the table.  In this way, you can be comfortable connecting and developing with like-minded peers who share similar backgrounds and experiences. When applying, please select the peer group you are interested in joining.  The Rosie team will then select 8-10 participants that best match the group’s criteria, setting you up for success!

The Rosie Peer Group Mentoring Program is a 12-month program. It is expected that groups will meet monthly for 2 hours. We recommend that the meeting cadence be set in the kickoff meeting.

Please contact us right away so we can help you address any issues. Then, if you prefer, we can place you in another group or you may wish not to continue in the program.

No. The Rosie Peer Group Mentoring Program is offered free of charge thanks to the generosity of our facilitators and Founding Partners: Co-Presenting Partners Capital Power and Ontario Power Generation and Amplify Partner BGIS.

We invite you to complete an online application form. If we need any additional information, a Rosie team member will connect with you.

At this time, the Rosie Peer Group Mentoring Program services and supporting materials are English-only. In the future, we plan to make the Rosie Peer Group Mentoring Program fully bilingual.

The purpose of the Rosie Peer Group Mentoring Program is not to seek or secure employment from your facilitator or peers but rather to support your professional and personal growth.

The Rosie Peer Group Mentoring Program is a virtual pan-Canadian program. By offering the Peer Group Program virtually, participants gain access to peers who would otherwise not be available because of geographic limitations. However, you and your group are welcome to get together socially at any time!
